Overview
At the 2010 Miami Boat Show, Cigarette introduced the newly designed Inspired by AMG 46 XP model to debut Mercury Racing's newest and highest horse powered 1350 engines and M8 drives. The upgrades made to the 46 XP hull and deck, have been incorporated into each Cigarette model, proving the point that a disciplined commitment to excellence yields the ultimate in performance and exclusivity.
The 46 XP featured many innovations including AMG Mercedes alubeam paint which is concentrated with a high-metallic content, giving it a unique glow as 30 coats create a durable sheen and finish. The silver and white paints utilized on the 46 Cigarette mirror those used by Mercedes AMG.
Though the upholstery materials used are marine-grade, they resembled the leather used by AMG Mercedes and featured the same 2-tone porcelain white and black, custom-designed in Cigarette's in-house upholstery department.
Technology reigns as all-new "Zero Effort Digital" controls were developed to accommodate the new power-plants, including one-turn "Smart Start" and a two-lever control that automatically synchronized the engines.
Making its debut in the 46 XP, the Mercury Racing QC4v (Quad-cam, 4-valve) engine, 1,350 HP, fuel-efficient, twin-turbocharged, run on 91-octane pump gas. With a new M8 drive system, the engines need only 1/2 of the oil changes and 1/3 of the mechanical service intervals of any other high-performance marine engine. These are Mercury Racing's newest, highest-powered and most highly-technical innovations to date.
The AMG-Inspired Cigarette represented two years of diligent effort to create not just a new boat, but a technologically advanced, luxury model with features that Cigarette has incorporated into all its performance models.
